Our Favourite Places to Stay in Mallorca

Our team are the experts in Mallorca. They’ve been selling holidays to the island since 1970. They know the island well and have long-standing relationships with many of its best hotels. Here we look at their favourite places to stay.

Palma

Palma is perfect year-round for a short break. Marvel at the impressive gothic cathedral overlooking Palma’s harbour. Spend time wandering around the old streets, which feature grand buildings that point to Palma’s past wealth, such as La Llotja, a beautiful 14th-century stock exchange. From Palma, a short scenic train ride takes you to Soller, a charming town from where you can take a tram down to Puerto de Soller, a pretty beachside resort. Hiring a car to explore the island is popular and will allow you to drive to places like Deia, once home to poet Rupert Graves and Valldemosa, where Chopin resided for a time.

Favourite place to stay: Palma – Convent de la Missio

In Palma, we suggest the Convent de la Missio – a beautiful hotel in the historic centre. High season prices for 4 nights sharing a Superior Room, including flights and private transfers, start from £1,167 per person in August. We include a complimentary guided walking tour.

Pollensa

Our favourite part of Mallorca is the Pollensa area in the northeast of the island. Just 45 minutes from the airport and Palma, we love the town as it still retains its ‘Spanish feel’. Its narrow cobbled streets have remained unchanged for centuries, and the town square is still home to a traditional market every Sunday.

Favourite place to stay: Puerto Pollensa

There is a selection of wonderful hotels from which to choose. Illa D’Or is always popular. Less well known is its sister hotel – Hotel Uyal – built in traditional Mallorcan style and located on the seafront in central Puerto Pollensa, just across the Pine Walk from the beach. The hotel has a garden, two private pools, a snack bar with sea views, a spa and welcoming restaurant. High season prices for 4 nights sharing a Superior Room, including flights and private transfers, start from £1,099 per person.
