Fugitives Drift is a 5,000 acre Heritage site overlooking the famous battlefields of Isandlwana and Rorke’s Drift. Guests can stay in comfort and luxury in either the Lodge or Guest House. What makes this place special are the owners, the Ratrays, and their involvement with the local community and its history. A not to be missed or forgotten experience.
Fugitive’s Drift is part of the history of the area and the Zulu wars, as famously portrayed in the film – Zulu. Guests will be inspired by heroic exploits from history vividly retold by the owners. Game walks and drives are organised and there is an outdoor swimming pool in the gardens. Children are not forgotten and have their own Battlefields Kids Club with walks and activities.
The dining room houses an extensive library and is where lunches and evening meals are served. Menus focus on regional cuisine and use local produce whenever possible.
