Estancia Cristina has a long history. Founded in 1914 by Joseph Percival Masters, an Englishman who came with his wife to Patagonia in 1900 and persevered through many hardships to travel west to Lake Argentino, where he set up his residence. Over time the estancia grew to its current size of 22,000 hectares of land surrounded by glaciers, snow-covered peaks and lakes of great natural beauty. Today the estancia welcomes guests who want to experience this beautiful landscape and share in the history.

There are plentiful opportunities to discover this beautiful region with programmes of excursions in 4x4s, on horse-back (for all levels of experience) and on foot regularly available. Guests can fish for salmon and trout in the lakes and rivers around Estancia Cristina. The restaurant serves delicious regional cuisine with succulent Patagonian lamb, fresh vegetables and homemade breads accompanied by good Argentinian wines being a particular favourite.
