This is a chance to really explore the diversity of Spain — a self-drive road trip that takes in all the major cities as well as some of the lesser-known parts of this beautiful and historic country. It’s an experience not to be missed!

Day 1: UK to Barcelona

Fly from your local airport to Barcelona. After collecting your hire car, self-drive to your first hotel. You begin your tour by walking through la Rambla, visiting a traditional food market and ending at the monument of Christopher Columbus. Later, you can wander the narrow streets of the Gothic Quarter.

Day 2: Barcelona

After breakfast, take a walk from Plaza España before heading up to the Monjuïc castle. After lunch, visit the Casa Batlló modernist museum before exploring its surroundings.

Day 3: Barcelona to Valencia

Self-drive from your hotel in Barcelona to Valencia before getting to know the city at your own pace.

Day 4: Valencia

Today, you will learn how to make paella and can also visit a local garden to pick up fruit and vegetables to accompany it.

Day 5: Valencia to Mojacar

Self-drive from your hotel in Valencia to Mojacar.

Day 6: Mojacar to Granada

Self-drive from your hotel in Mojacar to Granada before walking to the Albaicín neighbourhood and wandering the Teterías street, souks and the Cathedral.

Day 7: Granada

Today, you will visit the impressive Alhambra. A guided tour through the complex and gardens will teach you more about the history and curiosities of this heritage site.

Day 8: Granada to Cadiz

Self-drive from Granada to Cadiz. After lunch, you can head to the interpretation centre of the town and its Castle; the views from here are spectacular.

Day 9: Cadiz

A day to explore Cadiz on bikes. Cadiz is part of the Greenways, where old train routes are now dedicated to cycling and walking.

Day 10: Cadiz to Seville

Self-drive from Cadiz to Seville this morning before a walking tour to see the highlights of this beautiful city. Later in the afternoon, you will have the option to see more of the old town by horse and carriage, or you can go on a boat trip on the Guadalquivir River.

Day 11: Seville

A day to discover more of the culture of Seville. Starting from Plaza España, you will go to the Cathedral, the Real Alcazar and the Santa Cruz neighbourhood.

Day 12: Seville to Cordoba

After breakfast, self-drive to Cordoba. After lunch, you will head to the picturesque Patios Cordobeses. These typical inside patios are full of ﬂowers and colours.

Day 13: Cordoba

Today, you will visit the Mosque, an unmissable World Heritage Site. In the afternoon, you can take a walk around the city.

Day 14: Cordoba

This morning, you can visit an authentic cattle ranch of bulls and pure Andalusian horses with more than 4 centuries of history. After your tour, you will eat in one of the family’s private rooms. In the afternoon, you will visit a winery.

Day 15 : Cordoba to Salamanca

Self-drive from Cordoba to Salamanca before enjoying a tour through the historic Plaza Mayor, the Cathedral and the Zona Universitaria.

Day 16: Salamanca to Madrid

Self-drive from Salamanca to Madrid. On arrival, you can have a guided tour of the city’s main attractions before heading to one of the local markets.

Day 17: Madrid

Today, you will visit the famous Prado Museum before taking a walk through its beautiful gardens and around the area. You will visit the Royal Palace in the afternoon and discover its most unique treasures.

Day 18: Madrid

This morning will be dedicated to Madrid de los Austrias, a traditional neighbourhood that holds the history of the nation’s rule by the Austrian monarchs. Later, you can go to Salamanca and Milla de Oro, an exclusive shopping area.

Day 19: Madrid

Today, you will visit the beautiful city of Toledo. On arrival, you will have a spectacular tour of the city. This journey will focus on aspects of Toledo’s three cultures: Jewish, Muslim, and Christian.

Day 20: Madrid to UK

Self-drive to the airport before ﬂying home.
