Mallorca
This ever-popular island has so much to offer – there really is something for everyone.
The vibrant city of Palma is home to the famous Cathedral and many art galleries and museums. Modern boulevards and international designer stores contrast with little shopping lanes in the old quarter.
The spectacular northwest coastline is dominated by the Tramuntana mountains, and enchanting villages, such as Deia, Banyalbufar, and Estellencs, cling to the hillsides. A visit to this part of the island would not be complete without experiencing a Chopin piano recital at the Royal Carthusian Monastery in Valldemossa.
Old values still prevail in the towns of Santa Maria del Cami, Binibona and Santa Margalida. Life is experienced at a slower pace in this island interior, where agriculture is key and weekly markets are a customary meeting place. It is also an area with a distinguished winemaking tradition.
The north and east of the island offer the best beaches – visit Port de Pollenca, Formentor, Cala Sant Vicenc or Son Servera. There are several upscale marinas to the south and west of the island, with luxury yachts, boutiques and restaurants.
