Antigua
Antigua is known as the heart of the Caribbean, and with connections to the British Virgin Islands, St Kitts and Nevis and others, it is a good choice for a two-centre holiday.
Antigua has its own exceptional attractions and, most of all, its beaches. With 365 beaches in all, there is literally one for every day of the year. For many, these attractions will be sufficient to fill a whole holiday, particularly as many resorts and hotels have comprehensive water sports facilities.
If you want to explore, why not hire a car and discover the island with virtually no signposts? Though you may get lost on occasions, as the island is just 16 miles by 14 miles, you will not go far wrong… and you may well discover enchanting parts of the island which otherwise would have remained a secret for you. Do try to visit Shirley Heights and enjoy the views down over English Harbour.
Take a step back in history by visiting Nelson’s Dockyard, which has been restored to provide a flavour of times gone by.
