Zambia & Zimbabwe
Blessed with one of the natural wonders of the world – Victoria Falls – and teeming with wildlife including the Big Five, Zambia and Zimbabwe are fine choices to discover the real Africa. Both countries offer some of the best wildlife viewing in southern Africa, with fewer visitors than better known areas.
Zimbabwe is a land of contrasts from deserts and mountains to lakes and rivers. The open landscapes and wildernesses are very different to those of neighbouring Botswana and Zambia. Its main attractions are Hwange National Park, where thousands of elephants seek out waterholes in the dry season and Victoria Falls.
Zambia, relatively undeveloped, offers authentic experiences in camps that recreate the feel of the original safaris. Wildlife is abundant with large numbers of leopard in the South Luangwa, herds of elephant and buffalo in the Lower Zambezi and enormous Kafue National Park. Zambia is also known for the variety of activities available from night game drives, bush walks, canoeing on the Zambezi to sunset cruises.
